Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has issued a fresh notification regarding the recruitment of Jailor in the State Jail Service. The number of vacancies remain undisclosed but it’s been noted that the window to submit applications will open from October 3rd, 2019. The application submission process would take place online and will conclude on October 30, 2019.

The TNPSC has set the written exam date for this Jailor exam 2019 as on December 22, 2019.

It’s been mentioned in the official short notification and here as well that candidates can apply online for this TNPSC Jailor recruitment 2019 between October 3rd to 30th, 2019. It must also been noted that the only online applications are invited, not offline. TNPSC’s official website’s tnpsc.gov.in or tnpscexams.in will avail the online registration facility. Candidates have to fill the form and upload the required documents online through the TNPSC portal.

The details about age limit, exam pattern, syllabus, reservations, educational qualification etc. will be made clear once the detailed notification arrives on October 3rd. We will update that here too.

Based on the last Jailor recruitment drive, here are the rough details about the exam.

Educational Qualification- The candidates must have a Under Graduation degree or it’s equivalent from a recognized board/University.

Age Limit- The lower age limit is expected to be 18 years but as for the upper age limit, it’s better to wait for the official say.

Exam Pattern– In the last written exam, 2 papers were held; paper I and paper II. Both papers consisted of 200 objective type questions and maximum obtainable 300 marks, however the questions were asked from different sections.

Selection Process– Candidates will have to appear for written test and interview session in the selection process. In the last recruitment drive, minimum qualifying marks set for the merit were 272 for Unreserved Categories and 204 marks for others, out of total 680 (including 80 marks for Interview).
