TASMAC online booking for sale and purchase of liquor in Tamil Nadu will start via www.tasmac.co.in website link and home delivery app soon. Online Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) booking and home delivery app is to expected be launched soon, as per the reports.

The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) will start the home delivery and online booking of liquor in Chennai, Tirupur, Coimbatore and other parts of the state through its website link www.tasmac.co.in and mobile app. The Madras High Court last week ordered the closing of all TASMAC shop in the state after finding that social distancing norms were violated during the lockdown. However, while on one hand, the High Court closed all shops, it also allowed the online booking to purchase liquor and home delivery of the same now.

Latest May 15 Update:

  • Try TASMAC web app (https://try-tasmac.web.app) is the not the official app of the corporation as few people have asked us. Refrain from booking your liquor from any such apps.
  • TASMAC Supreme Court Case: The Supreme court has stayed High court’s order.
  • The shops will reopen from tomorrow (May 16) after the SC’s decision.

TASMAC has challenged the High Court’s decision and appealed to the Supreme Court for opening of shops again. TASMAC is in preparation to set up portal link and app for the Online sale of liquor in Tamil Nadu. We’ll update the app and website link soon once online application commences.

Also note: There are some fake apps in Google Play Store, don’t order liquor from there as TASMAC has not yet introduced any app or portal for online order.

Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) has a state monopoly over liquor retail in the state with more than 5,300 shops. The online booking for delivery of liquor in Chennai and other cities in Tamil Nadu is poised to start soon. The facility to buy liquor online will be availed through TASMAC website (link given below) and mobile app upon the launch.

All TASMAC wine shops have been closed till May 17, 2020, only online booking and home delivery will be allowed now for the time being.

TASMAC is expected to launch its website and app today to provide the online booking to people looking to buy liquor and also facilitate the home delivery. As of now, the Corporation has not notified of the’ liquor online booking website or app’ and the process. TASMAC is expected to announce details about online liquor booking website link, helpline and/or mobile app today for home delivery.

www.tasmac.co.in is the official website of the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC). However, it remains to be seen if a new link will be put up on its already existing website or a new site/app will be launched.

In its hearing on May 8th, Madras HC ordered to close all shops but lifted restrictions on online sale of liquor along with home delivery facility. The court received many petitions stating that people rushed to the shops to buy liquor and did not follow social distancing rules at all.

According to the reports, food delivery app Zomato may also avail the online booking and delivery of liquor soon.

How to Purchase and Order Liquor Online in Tamil Nadu

In view of ensure the social distancing amidst the ongoing lockdown, which has been extended to May 17 across the country, the government has decided to allow the online sale of liquor, for the first time in the history of the state. The liquor online booking and delivery is also beneficial for the people as now they don’t have to wait in long queues in the scorching summer heat.

Purchase and Order Liquor Online in Tamil Nadu Chennai

Here is the simple process to order home delivery of liquor online in Chennai and cities/towns of Tamil Nadu state in India.

  • Firstly, visit the official website www.tasmac.co.in and look for the section ” Buy Liquor Online in Tamil Nadu”. The link will be provided soon by the Corporation.
  • Then on the next page, you will have to enter the details of your name, age, home address for delivery, select the alcohol you want (brand and quantity), and then proceed to pay online through the net banking, credit/debit cards, UPI, wallets such as PhonePe, PayTM etc. Please ensure to book the liquor from TASMAC’s official link only and do not fall for fraudulent sites and apps.
  • The minimum age for ordering and consuming alcohol in Tamil Nadu is 21 years.

Note: Tamil Nadu government and TASMAC are yet to introduce the ‘website link and app to ‘buy liquor online‘. We will update the links here once officially announced. Stay tuned here for more updates.

  8. The HC order on May 8 directed the Tamil Nadu government to shut TASMAC outlets. The Supreme Court Today ordered a stay on the Madras High Court’s decision. So now tell me, what you understood from this? Shops will remain closed or will it open?!!

  9. Seeing the section updated today (15th May), I doubt if the admin has done schooling or not!! If SC has given a stay to HC order then that means SC has been allowed to open the shop.

      HC had ordered to close down TASMAC shops.
      Supreme court today stayed HC order, means shops will remain closed. And that SC has recommended online delivery of the liquor.
      Please let me know what’s wrong with that?

    So again we want to here from your end regarding the latest/fresh update on the same (almost 2 days after).

    As am seeing tons of rumours around the social media about (fake apps, links, false statements…….)., So kindly update us with what and how things are going at corporation level and when will get the tentative decision on this.

    • Raghu, HC permitted TASMAC to sell liquor online i.e, home delivery. Now, Few local news sources have reported that the company is in the process of launching the service. The company, however, has not issued any official statement about it.
      More so, it yesterday challenged the HC decision in SC to open the shops citing huge losses.
      So, in a day or 2, we’ll hear what’s really going to happen. Either the shops will open or home delivery will start.
      Thats the latest update there is.
