RPSC JLO 2019 exam is scheduled for December 26th & 27th, 2019 and the new admit cards have been issued to the candidates. In a notification released here today on December 21st, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) noted that the old admit cards for the Junior Legal Officer (JLO) 2019 exam which were issued to the candidates on December 18th have been cancelled and the new admit cards have been uploaded on the Commission’s website. The notice comes in the wake of Rajasthan High Court’s recent order regarding the exam.
The candidates had requested the Commission to arrange more exam centers and also to extend the RPSC JLO 2019 exam date.
The issuance of new admit cards for RPSC JLO 2019 exam has happened because earlier, the Commission had notified to conduct the examination only in the Ajmer city at 96 centers. Due to which, the candidates from other parts of the state had to come to Ajmer to take the exam. The candidates had then requested the State High Court to look into the matter and ask the RPSC to arrange exam centers in more cities.
As it happened, the High Court directed the RPSC to set up exam centers in more cities. And now, the RPSC Junior Legal Officer exam will be held in Jaipur and Jodhpur too, in addition to Ajmer.
A total of 30,950 candidates have applied to appear for this JLO exam. RPSC had advertised a total of 156 Junior Legal Officer posts through this recruitment drive, The application process was carried out between 19th September to 20th October, 2019. After the application process, the initial admit cards were issued on December 18th but just after days, the Commission issued the notice cancelling the previously issued admit cards.
Candidates can download the new admit cards from this direct link.
The candidates had proposed to conduct the exam in Udaipur, Bikaner and Kota also but the Commission has not organized the exam in those cities.
On the notified exam dates i.e., December 26th & 27th, RPSC JLO 2019 exam will be held in two shifts on both days. The morning shift exam will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and the afternoon/evening shift will be from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Apart from the admit cards issue, candidates are facing a more serious problem. That is the chances of postponement of JLO 2019 exam due to the nation-wide protests for Citizenship Amendment Act. However, the RPSC has not changed the exam date as of yet.
Aside from protests, but the candidates themselves have been requesting the Commission to postpone the JLO exam citing the reason that RPSC has not given them sufficient time for the exam preparation. The candidates said that, “The exam has huge syllabus and we have been given only 2 months for the preparation which is not enough. The last time JLO recruitment was advertised was 6 years ago in which, the candidates were given 8 months’ time for preparation. Why not this time?”
The Commission did not respond to the JLO 2019 exam date extension or postponement. As of this writing, the exam will take place as scheduled. Candidates are advised to continue their test preparation no matter the case.
