REET 2020 exam date changed; Govind Singh Dotasra

Rajasthan education minister, Govind Singh Dotasra, yesterday stated that Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2020 would now be held on a new date in September month instead of proposed August date. The minister informed that new REET exam date 2020 is September 2nd, 2020. The exam was earlier scheduled for August 2nd, 2020 but has now been postponed by a month.

The minister broke the news through a Facebook Live hosted on Wednesday. Dotasara’s Facebook Live received 55,000 comments. He said that all suggestions will be reviewed and important decisions will be taken in future.

Nearly 12 lakh aspirants are waiting for this REET exam which is conducted for recruiting teachers in the government schools of the state. There are 3 levels in REET and the state government has notified that over 31 thousand vacancies are to be filled through this exam.

However, the minister informed that candidates will be given 3 months’ time for the REET exam after issuing the notice. Therefore, they should continue with their test preparation according to the syllabus of NCTE 2011.

The minister also stated that the validity of the previous REET exam ends in August and by the rulebook, the exam should’ve been conducted prior the deadline. But the ongoing lockdown situation in view of the Coronavirus crisis has halted the process.

The Rajasthan education board will conduct the REET 2020 exam. Students may keep checking the board’s official website for notifications.
