BPUT, UUEMS, all UG PG final Semester exam cancelled in Odisha

The Higher Education Department of Odisha has cancelled all final semester exam for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) education courses in the state. The decision to cancel Odisha final semester UG PG exam applies to all universities as well as autonomous colleges including Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Utkal University (UUEMS), Sambalpur University and Berhampur University etc. The higher education department came out with this decision after intake from VCs and Heads of several varsities and colleges.

For students, it means that the final i.e., 6th semester for UG courses- BA, B.Sc, B.Com etc., and 4th semester exam for PG course- M.Com, M.Sc etc stands cancelled. The last semester exam for four or more year’s integrated courses also come under this scheme. Most of these exams were scheduled for June but are now cancelled. As for the universities and colleges which have already conducted their exams, this methodology would not apply for them.

As per the guidelines issued by the Odisha higher education department here on Thursday, the students’ final semester exam results will now be prepared using the new evaluation method.

According the new prescribed method, results will be on the following basis:

  • Students’ internal assessment in present semester
  • Students’ performance (marks) in all previous semesters
  • The students who have 2 or more back papers in final semester, their exams have also been cancelled. proportionate quotient (P-Q) or any other method will be used for such students’ results.
  • The weightage criteria details are yet to be available.

The results of the final semester will be announced in August month. If the students are not satisfied with their marks/results, they can then also apply for the revaluation in November month. The revaluation results will be out by December.
