Uday Samant Mumbai University exam news: Maharashtra government has announced that all University exams in Maharashtra except final year, have been cancelled, as per Minister Uday Samant. This includes the exams for top universities and colleges, including Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Shivaji University, Gondwana University, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) (Nagpur University) and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) etc. The exam cancelled notice 2020 will soon be issued by respective universities on their official portals.
Uday Samant, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra today announced that “all examinations in UG & PG except for the final year in Maharashtra are cancelled. All students will be promoted to the next year except final year. Final year examinations would be conducted in July 2020”.
Final year exams would be held between July 1st to July 31st, 2020. The Minister also added that a further decision will be held in June month considering the COVID 19 and lockdown situation by then.
What it means for the students:
This means that the students of 1st and 2nd year degree courses (BA, B.Sc, B.Com BBA, Diploma/Polytechnic) etc. would be promoted to the next year/semester with taking the exams. But then third/final year exams would be held in July month.
As for the students pursuing professional degree courses such as B.Tech/B.E. etc, their exams for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year scheduled in summer season are cancelled. Only the fourth/final year students will sit for the exams in July.
The decision applies to all other students as well, pursuing longer term courses such as integrated courses.
