The Pareeksha Bhavan has conducted the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) examination on January 09, 2021 for category 1 & category 2 candidates and will release the answer key by the month’s end. The KTET for category 3 & 4 will be conducted on January 17, 2021. KTET category 1 exam was held in the morning shift between 10 am to 12:30 pm and KTET category 2 was held in afternoon shift from 2 pm to 04:30 pm. This KTET was originally scheduled for December 2020 but delays led to the exam being conducted in January 2021 instead.
The Office of the Commissioner for Government Examination, Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala is the authority that conducts this Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) for granting eligibility to the teacher aspirants in the state. KTET category 1 is for lower primary teachers, category 2 for upper primary teachers, category 3 for high school teachers and category 4 for language and physical education teachers.

The official KTET answer key is released by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan. The answer key release date is not officially mentioned in the official notification anywhere but going by the trends, candidates can expect the same after 2-3 weeks of the completion of the test.

Calculate marks using answer key
The candidates who wrote the KTET exam in January 2021 will need the answer key to check the correct answers asked in the paper and evaluate their expected marks and performance. The candidates can tally their attempts in KTET paper against the correct answers given in the answer keys and calculate marks using marking scheme.
KTET papers for all categories are of total 150 marks. 1 mark is given for each correct answer and there is no negative marking. Meaning, the total of correct attempts by a candidate will lead to his/her total marks in KTET.
KTET Result & Pass marks
The candidates need to obtain minimum qualifying marks in order to pass the KTET. Here are the qualifying marks:
- General category- 60% (90/150 marks)
- OBC/SC/ST/PH category- 55% (82/150 marks)
The result is based on the candidate’s performance in the exam. Those who pass will be awarded KTET certificate which is valid for 7 years.
KTET result 2021 for December 2020 notification is expected to be released in March/April. No exact date is given by the officials.
