Kerala BEVCO app ‘BevQ’ download: Kerala Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) will launch its drink app for generating the virtual queue token next week. According to the reports, Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) conducted the trial of its mobile app on earlier this week and is gearing for public launch on Thursday.
While the liquor shops in Kerala has been reopened today on May 20, the Kerala state government had since last week been working on to launch the BEVCO app to control crowd and ensure social distancing norms.
May 23 Update: BevQ app is ready but Google has raised security issues before its release on its ‘Play Store’. The officials on May 22nd said that the app will be ready to be launched on upcoming Monday or Tuesday.
What is Kerala BEVCO App
The new KSBC BEVCO drink app set to launch tomorrow has been developed by Faircode Technologies based in Kochi. The app will avail the facility of online booking for virtual queue token for the purchase of liquor in BEVCO owned shops in Kerala.
The Kerala Beverages Corporation has not provided the facility of home delivery of liquor, the app will facilitate generating the token to avoid long queues. You can book a particular time slot through this KSBC drink app and visit the shop to buy liquor.

The Kerala Beverages ‘Faircode technologies’ drink app will be available to download from Google Play Store.
A link will be put on the official website of the Kerala Beverages Corporation website www.ksbc.kerala.gov.in. The link will be updated here on Thursday.
Online booking for virtual queue token to purchase liquor in Kerala:
First, download the app from Google Play store or from link given at KSBC website.
After installing the app, select the district and enter the PIN code of the area you are looking to purchase liquor in. If no shop is listed under the entered ZIP/PIN code, enter another area’s code.
After entering the district and area’s PIN Code, the app will display the list of Kerala Beverages shops and bars. Select whichever shop/bar is nearest to you.
Now, select the time slot to book virtual queue token.
Enter your basic details (name, address, ID details) etc.
After filling all the required details, a confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number with time slot and shop details.
Things you should know:
The people who don’t have smartphone to download the app, will be able to send a message to the prescribed number and get the token to buy liquor.
Only 1 toke a day can be generated using one mobile number.
Only people with age above 21 years are permitted to buy liquor in Kerala.
Shramik Special train booking online registration, Shramik train list: Indian Railways is now running hundreds of Shramik special trains for stranded individuals to travel to their states. The Indian Railway has said that special trains booking can only be done through IRCTC website and app. We’ll update the detailed list and schedule/time table of special trains here. Stay tuned.
Types of Shramik Special trains and online booking(May 20 Update)
Shramik Special trains for migrant workers and stranded individuals: The online booking facility is not available for these kind of trains. The migrant workers would have to register at state’s interstate movement portal to travel by these trains. Shramik special train registration/booking facility is only available with the state government, not the public. Register online through state migrant service here.
Indian Railways will 200 Non-AC trains from June 1, 2020. The booking for these trains can be done online by anybody. The detailed time table and list will be available at Railways website.
IRCTC Special trains: These trains are separate from Shramil trains and booking for these can be done by anybody.
The booking for all the Shramik special trains can be done online through website (www.irctc.co.in) and IRCTC app.
In an official press release, Railways stated that “These special trains will run from New Delhi connecting connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi stations”
The Indian Railways, under the government of India, had launched ‘Shramik’ special trains for the interstate movement of migrant workers during lockdown in India. These Shramik special trains will run from point to point ( from one state to another) on the request of concerned state governments for the movement of migrant workers, students, pilgrims, tourists and other stranded people. The first Shramik special train started on May 1st from from Lingampalli (Telangana) to Hatia (Jharkhand), carried 1250+ people and arrived last night at 23.15 hrs at destination.

Special Train Registration Booking
The registration and booking for these Shramik special trains can only be done by the state government officials. The facility is not open to the public i.e., stranded migrant workers, students and alike.
How to register for Shramik Special train to travel lockdown?
The stranded persons willing to travel to another state have to register with any of the two state government (source & destination) to avail the facility. There is no other open. It is upto the government who will be sent by the special trains and when.

Facts about Shramik Special Trains
The sending states will arrange the buses to bring registered passengers to the special train’ boarding station.
The food and drinking water will be provided at the boarding station by the sending state government to all passenger. Additional meal will be provided during longer special train routes.
The on duty Railway officials will ensure the social distancing, hygiene and other safety rules.
On the arrival, the destination state government will arrange the screening and health checkup facility, including quarantine if necessary.
The facility for further travel will also be provided by the destination state government after train arrival.
The Railways and state governments have appointed nodal offers to coordinate the movement.
It is mandatory for all passengers to wear face mask, main social distance, hygiene and follow the rules.
The government has advised the people to not arrive at the station unnecessarily. The Shramik special trains are not run for everyone and people without prior registration with state government will not be permitted to travel.

Kerala BEVCO Liquor Beverages online booking app for virtual queue token: Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has announced to launch website and app for online booking and home delivery of liquor. Kerala government has allowed the opening of Liquor and local alcohol ‘Toddy’ shops to open again from May 20. The Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) Kerala is also considering to soon provide the online liquor booking facility and introducing a e-token system to avoid long queues at the wine shops.
Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) is a state government owned company, having monopoly over sale of liquor in Kerala. There are nearly 300 BEVCO owned liquor shops in Kerala, apart from toddy shops.
May 20 Update:
Kerala liquor shops will open from Wednesday (May 20). The virtual queue token
Kerala government announced that a 10-35% special Corona fee will be applied to the liquor sale. Means, you will have to pay 10-35% extra on the MRP of your liquor. The new price list of Kerala BEVCO has not been uploaded online at ksbc.kerala.goc.in as of this update. We’ll inform once its live.
Kerala government has announced that bars and pubs will soon be able to sell liquor on BEVCO rates. The date has not been notified.
Kerala Toddy Shops News:
The toddy shops were opened in Kerala today but closed down soon facing the supply issues. There are nearly 3600 toddy shops in Kerala, most of them get their supply from Chittur in Palakkad. The lockdown has slowed down the production at only around 10,000 litres a day as compared to the daily demand of 3 lakh litres.
The lack of liquor also caused the toddy/liquor shops in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Kannur to remain shut on May 13. The shops witnessed massive rush in the areas where they were opened but only to be run out of stock within 2-3 hours.
Kerala BEVCO Liquor Beverages Online Booking & Home Delivery:
The Kerala Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has also announced that it is developing an mobile app and web portal link to provide the online booking of alcohol/liquor and home delivery of the same.
Several states including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh have already allowed the online sale and delivery of liquor. Reports are that online sale and delivery of liquor will soon be a reality in Kerala too, and more so since the Supreme Court has also recommended the same.
Kerala BEVCO has approached the officials of ‘Kerala Startup Mission’ for the launch of website and app to facilitate the online booking and purchase of liquor in Kerala, mainly in cities with high demand such as Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kollam, Thrissur and Kannur among others.
How to purchase Liquor and Order Online in Kerala:
Kerala BEVCO is currently finding a suitable IT partner for the development of mobile app and website to avail the online booking and purchase of liquor. More than 32 lakh people in Kerala consume alcohol, with nearly 5 lakh being daily consumers of local beverage ‘Toddy’ or ‘Liquor’.
The information regarding the online booking, home delivery and rules to be followed will be notified through the official website of the Kerala Beverages Corporation i.e., www.ksbc.kerala.gov.in.
Before the launch of website and mobile app for online sale and delivery of liquor in Kerala, the Excise department and BEVCO have announced that they are going to launch a ‘queue token system’ to avoid rush at the toddy and wine shops. Delhi, Maharashtra and few other states have already availed this e-token system.
Kerala BEVCO official G. Sparjan Kumar said that “we are soon launching a virtual queue or token system after resumption of liquor sale through BEVCO retail shops’.
Kerala BEVCO App for queue token:
The people will have to download the app launched by Kerala State Beverages Corporation and enter their basic details such as name, mobile number, address and time slot etc. to book their place in the queue.
After entering the details, the customers will be sent a text message informing them of the time slot they can visit the nearby shop and buy the liquor.
Those without smartphones, will be able to send a SMS to the prescribed number and book their slot.
As per the officials, the queue token system will cover around 300 liquor shops in Kerala.

APSRTC Spandana Portal Registration Online Bus Ticket Booking: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that APSRTC buses will run from May 21 for interstate as well as intra-state travel. The online ticket booking for these special APSRTC bus can only be done by registration at AP Spandana portal (spandana.ap.gov.in). Read details about how to book tickets and who is eligible. This Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus service will only for the stranded individuals (migrant workers, students etc.)
May 20 Update:
The persons willing to travel by APSRTC buses first will have to register at Spandana portal online. The registration process is given below.
The buses will now operate within districts of Andhra Pradesh (from district to district, and depot to depot with no unnecessary stops in-between) and to other states as well.
The tickets would not be sold at APSRTC counters. The willing passengers will have to book tickets at spandana.ap.gov.in and then the ticket will be sent to their mobile phones.

While the AP government has announced to run special buses, not everyone can avail this facility. Here is the detailed process for booking APSRTC bus tickets through AP Spandana portal online.
Who can travel?
Only those persons who have registered at AP Spandana portal for returning to Andhra Pradesh, or to go to other states from AP, and have agreed to the quarantine rules of the state, will be permitted to avail AP Bus service.
How to register in Spandana Portal
If you are stranded in other state and want to come back to Andhra Pradesh, or want to go to other states from AP, or travel within the state, first of all, visit the spandana.ap.gov.in portal and fill the registration form. After the registration is completed, you will be notified about the travel details only if you agree to be quarantined at quarantine centres arranged by the AP govt.

The registered persons will be sent the bus tickets at their mobile phones if they agree to the travel and quarantine rules.
These buses will run from point to point, meaning no unnecessary stops. The registered persons will be notified of the boarding places at their mobile phones if their application is approved.
A recent circular by APSRTC also states the possibility that more buses will be run form intra-state travel from May 21, 2020.

WBCHSE HS exam date 2020 routine: West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced the new routine for its Higher Secondary (HS) examinations 2020. According to the WBCHSE, the new HS exam date 2020 are scheduled between June 29th to July 6th, 2020.
Partha Chatterjee, the minister of West Bengal made the Higher secondary exam dates announcement today on May 19.
New HS exam Routine 2020
The remaining HS exams that were postponed in March due to the lockdown, will now be held on June 29th, July 2nd and July 6th, 2020. The officials said that the detailed routine for the HS exams 2020 will be announced after the lockdown.
The West Bengal HS exams were originally scheduled to be held on March 23rd, March 25th and March 27th, 2020, and will now be held on the new dates.

The new HS exam routine 2020 will be available at the official website– wbchse.nic.in in few days, the officials said.
The board has already cancelled class 11 examinations and decided to promote all students to the next class (12 or higher secondary).
The minister also said that social distancing norms and other guidelines will have to be strictly followed during the conduct of the exams. The board said that it has arranged over 2,500 centres to ensure the social distancing rules and that no more than 80-100 students will be allowed to take exams in one centre.
Kerala SSLC and Plus Two exam 2020 will be held from May 26 to May 30. The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, announced in a press brief today that the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and the Plus two (class 12) or Higher Secondary (HS) examination 2020 will be conducted as per the scheduled notified earlier.
On May 14, the Kerala government had announced the rescheduled dates for the SSLC and Plus two exams.
According to the time table announced then, Maths exam will be held on May 26, Physics on May 27 and Chemistry paper on May 28, 2020 for SSLC students. These exams will be held in the afternoon sessions.
The Kerala Higher secondary (HS or Plus two) examinations will be held in both, morning and afternoon shifts between May 26 to May 30th, 2020.

Few media portal reported earlier today that the SSLC ans Plus two exam schedule has been deferred again but that’s not the case as the CM confirmed the news via his press meet.
The Minister also clarified few other details:
The evaluation of the answer sheets of the exams already conducted, will commence, and that the state will not hold any exams for class 8th and 9th.
CBSE 10th, 12th rescheduled exam dates 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the new exam dates for the class 10th and 12th board examinations for the remaining papers that were postponed due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
According to the official circular released here today, CBSE 12th class exams will now be conducted from July 1st to July 15th, 2020.
The 10th class board exams for schools in North-East Delhi region will also be held on July 1st to July 15th, 2020.

The CBSE 12th class rescheduled examinations 2020 will start from July 1st for Home Science subject, and will end on July 15th with Home Science, Economics, History & biology paper for North-East Delhi schools.

10th class exams:
CBSE would only conduct the 10th class for the students whose centre was in North-Delhi region schools. The exams for the students in the rest of the country are over, the HRD minister had informed last week.
For North-East Delhi, the 10th class exam schedule is given below. Exam timing for all papers is 10:30 am to 01:30 PM.

Guidelines for Students:
The students will have to carry their own hand sanitizers in transparent bottles.
The students will have to wear face masks
The students will have to follow social distancing rules.
The students will also have to follow the basic rules and instructions for writing the exams as mentioned in the admit card.
Since all exams are to be held from 10:30 am to 01:30 pm, the students should reach the exam centre on the scheduled time. The answer books will be distributed to the students between 10 am to 10:15 am, and the 15 minutes time will be given to read the question paper from 10:15 am to 10:30 am.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has announced the new dates for Secondary School Level Certificate (SSLC) examinations that were postponed in view of the COVID 19 pandemic and lockdown enforcement earlier in March.
The education minister of Karnataka, S Suresh Kumar, announced the new exam dates today on May 18 in a press briefing.
According to the minister, the exams will be held between June 25th to July 4th, 2020. The detailed SSLC time table 2020 will be available shortly at KSEEB official portal (www.kseeb.kar.nic.in). The 2nd PUC English exam date was also announced today.
As of today, only the dates have been announced, the detailed time table is yet to be released officially.
The SSLC exams in Karnataka were originally scheduled from March 27th to April 9th, 2020. However, the enforcement of lockdown from March 24 caused the entire schedule to be postponed.
The minister also said that special measure will be taken to ensure the health safety of the students. The government will setup the thermal screening process and health checkup prior to the exam and will also facilitate the face masks and hand sanitizers to the students.
The seating arrangement will also be done considering the social distancing norms. The student with medical conditions will be seated separately.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has announced that the 2nd PUC (Pre-University Course) exam for English paper will be held on July 18, 2020. 2nd PUC English was the only paper that was postponed from its original date March 23rd, 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
The education minister S Suresh Kumar, announced the Karnataka English exam date 2020 today.
Karnataka 2nd PUC English exam new date 2020 is June 18, 2020. A circular will soon be uploaded on kseeb.kar.nic.in, the official website detailing the time table and guidelines for the conduct of the exam.
Over 7 lakh students are appearing for the 2nd PUC exams in 2020. The postponement of exam is sure to cause a delay in results declaration too. The 2nd PUC results are now expected to be announced in July. The evaluation of English paper will commence after the conduct of exam on June 18th.
The board officials did not provide an exact timeline as to when the students can expect their 2nd PUC results.
Seva Sindhu registration and application status check online at sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in for interstate travel: The Karnataka state government has initiated the migrant workers registration for interstate travel and inter district movement. The online registrations began on May 2nd through the ‘Seva Sindhu’ portal, sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in, an digital initiative of the Karnataka government to provided digital services to its citizens.
Through Seva Sindhu (सेवा सिंधु) portal, the people (migrant labour workers, students, pilgrims, tourists) stranded in Karnataka may register their details online to return to their home state. The registration for Karnataka residents currently stranded in other states due to the COVID-19 crisis have also commenced today. Additionally, the portal also facilitates the issuance of inter district movement pass for the people.
If you have already registered at Seva Sindhu portal, you can also check the application status online. More than 2 lakh people have registered online to get travel pass from Sevasindhu website.

Steps to register online: The process is common for all passes.
Firstly, visit the official website here or type sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in/sevasindhu in your mobile/desktop internet browser.
Now once the site is open, Select the relevant option out of “travel to other state” or “travel to Karnataka from other state”.
On the next page (servicesonline.gov.in portal), enter required details- name, age, gender, mobile number, Aadhaar card number, and select status (migrant/student/tourist/pilgrim).
Now, enter the present address (where you are now), and destination address (where you want to go).
Taluk in Bangalore means, administrative sub-district. There are 5 taluk in Bangalore urban and 4 in rural. You can check that online with a quick google search.
Now, select the option ‘travelling with family or alone’ as applicable and fill in details.

Karnataka Travel/Movement Arrangement During Lockdown
After you have completed the registration, the local relevant authorities will contact you in around 24-28 hours with the details of the movement. Make sure to provide correct and active mobile number while filling the form.
The Karnataka state government has also announced that “KSRTC buses will run from BMTC bus stand (Majestic) to all districts except red zones between 10 am to 6 pm on May 3rd, 2020 (Sunday)”.
Advisory: All people are advised to follow the social distancing and hygiene norms and wearing face mask is necessary. The state govt has setup camps to screen the migrant’s health and only the ones showing no symptoms will be permitted to travel.
